It is important to have good friends in trying times.

Those little expressions of care and concern are often the boost that gets me through the next Jew Hating rant on my Substack feed, or some more stupidity about the federal government.

My days are full of very exciting things. I am an investor in and advisor to some of the most cutting-edge technology companies the world has ever seen.

I have a wonderful family who spend most of their days off doing their own, highly productive things. I’ve got a dog who reminds me of the important things in life.

I am a gifted cook, born with a golden ladle in my hand and a tropical spice forest sprouting from my scalp. I made a tajine today: chicken with figs, apricots and home-aged lemons. Damned delicious.

I write a great deal and host the most Enlightentaining podcast in the world. I receive a constant stream of threats from Jew Hating low life scum in at least four languages per day. Sometimes I have fun and write about them, if they are particularly daft.

My greatest danger to productivity is catching sight of myself in a mirror and then just standing, entranced, enchanted, unable to tear myself away. Kind of like Harry Potter’s Mirror of Erised, but far, far worse because I’m that one in a billion who sees himself just as he is in that mirror. It’s hard yards out here, is what I’m saying.

Then there are the millions of people marching in streets calling for my death on the daily, which is hard not to take personally, given that I’ve survived five Islamist bombings since 1995. So, imagine my joy when out of nowhere, I got this unexpected little pep talk meme from a friend and colleague:

Just when I’m about to chuck it all in and go back to my foot modeling career, I get these little boosts from those who really care.
