Don't Let your Convictions Become Obsessions
We've hit peak interest in the Wuhan Hysteria; it's all indifference from here on in
James Bovard wrote a great opinion piece on 25 November 2022 in the New York Post - the only source of reliable reportage aside from Messy Times - titled ‘All-knowing’ Tony Fauci’s memory suddenly vanishes when he has to testify.
The lying weasel Anthony Fauci was deposed recently, as Bovard wrote:
Fauci was deposed on Wednesday by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry. Landry labeled Fauci the “man who single-handedly wrecked the US economy based upon ‘the science, follow the science.’” But “over the course of seven hours, we discovered that he can’t recall practically anything dealing with his COVID response,” Landry said.
So Fauci is “omniscient except during depositions”?
No surprises here from the wily old swamp creature.
I have been thinking hard – as many of us have – about the Wuhan Hysteria and its myriad knock-on effects. As many of you have, I’ve had relationships strained with sheeple who embraced the lunacy or at least said nothing about it. After having Emily Burns on my show for a discussion – and hearing feedback from many people about that chat – I’m coming to a different view of The Possible.
A number of intelligent people I know focused on Bovard’s last sentence, "America will not fully recover from the pandemic until all the COVID lies and abuses by officialdom have been exposed."
If that is the bar we must clear, then America will never “fully recover.”
Firstly, for those who care to listen, all the lies and abuses by officialdom are already exposed. Exposure is the precursor to acceptance. So the insanity has been “exposed.” So what? Many of us were exposing the lies and absurdity in real time. There has been no shortage of exposure. The details don’t matter. Will anyone change their mind about two years of lockdowns, school closures and mask kabuki depending on whether Fauci or Birx said “masks are nice” on the third Tuesday of May versus the second Monday of June?
Secondly, the same people who ignored the exposures the first time as it was happening have even less incentive to listen now that it is receding into the past. Even beyond the millions with Wuhan Stockholm Syndrome, there are myriad reasons to ignore this whole mess and just put it behind us. People have busy, stressful lives and the vast majority of the population knows that whether they dive into the details of this particular example of the government lying to them, nothing will change and no one will be brought to justice.
Thirdly, there is an Active Forgetting Machine working 24/7 and outspending folks like me by 500,000x. They have more incentive to stay out of prison or otherwise avoid accountability than we have in holding them accountable.
Fourthly, life is not unidimensional. There are dozens of other, far more pressing issues facing the nation – the out-of-control Federal Leviathan, open borders, rampant inflation, the tentacles of the COP27 Climate Religion reaching into our pocketbooks to send “climate reparations” to f-ing CHINA as a “developing nation!”
I for one say, “Never Again!” and I mean it. But… I have a company to run, kids to raise, a life to enjoy and other political fights to engage in. In addition, the exact example of another pandemic will not likely be the next eruption of totalitarian crap these clowns try on, so extensive dissection of these particulars is not that valuable.
I will continue to fight the good fight and push back on the Lockdowners and Boomer School Closers, but I have accepted that this level of Wuhan Truth & Reconciliation is likely to be the peak of the public’s interest and sanity dictates I move on.
More broadly, so long as the population is ready to say “Hell, no!” to the next attempt to restrict basic freedoms, that will be the best result we’re likely to get.
