Clarifying Things for Jen Psaki
Nina Jankowicz and the Ministry of Truth violate the First Amendment.
In a fit of insanity which would have caused George Orwell’s editor to put a line through it, the Biden Administration has proposed the creation of a “Disinformation Governance Board” to be housed in the Department of Homeland Security. Leaving aside such pesky details as this government control of speech being a blatant violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution, in practice this would be like putting a pyromaniac in charge of the Fire Department.
Yes, that is exactly analogous to how the Biden Administration treats the truth. I stand by it.
The screenshot is from an online “discussion” run by the insane and bizarrely smug nutcase in the upper right hand corner, Nina Jankowicz who was tapped to run this Orwellian Truth Ministry. Because I want to protect and help you, my dear readers, I took it upon myself to transcribe this bizarre snippet of conversation in which Ms. Jankowicz gives a clear sense of how little she trusts the average person to think critically. She is libsplaining how Twitter is going to set up a fun new program that allows some people to edit other people's Tweets to, you know, “provide context.”
And I am eligible for – because I’m verified. But there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified who aren’t, you know, legit, in my opinion. I mean they are real people but they’re not trustworthy. Anyway, verified people can, um, essentially start to ‘edit’ [air quotes] Twitter, the same sort of way Wikipedia is, so they can add context to certain Tweets. Ummmmm… So, just as an easy example, not from any political standpoint, if President Trump were still on Twitter, and tweeted a claim about voter fraud, someone could add context from one of the sixty lawsuits, uh, that went through the court [sic] or, uh, something that an election official in one of the States said, perhaps your own Secretary of State – [laughs while bearded dude nods] - and his newsconferencesomethinglikethat. Adding context so that people have a fuller picture rather than just an individual claim on a Tweet.
As you can read, her example was absolutely not from any political standpoint. We know that because she told us so. Yup. She’s “legit,” right? You can tell from her perfect command of English as demonstrated by her grammatical perfection and clear delivery of a cogent set of thoughts.
She delivered this perky pep talk to the eleven other True Believers nodding along in sheer agreement at her brilliance. They were all, like, totally excited by the prospect of her protecting us all from dangerous ideas. Cuz, y’know, like, other Americans who maybe – the HORROR! – vote, like Republican or something equally extremist and hate-filled, can, like say stuff, but it’s not “legit” stuff, so we need to be sure to censor them and, like, hound their employers to fire them and stuff, until every last one is silenced.
Her very exciting proposal is that some wonderful, “verified” idiot who managed to get a blue check from Twitter could come upon something you, poor, benighted, probably dumb slob felt fit to post online – and proceed to change what you wrote. I have no idea why you were posting something to the Leftist Indoctrination Swamp, but let’s say you did. In her happy world, if someone she agrees with comes across your stupid comment, that special “legit” person can change what you wrote. In many instances, who could care? In some very specific instances, in this bizarre cancel culture where people lose their real-world jobs because an online pack of losers decides to scream about a joke they don’t find funny, someone modifying your words could get you fired if the words were changed in a certain way.
That is leaving aside the very appalling idea in the first place that someone thinks he or she has made a comment or contributed to an online debate – perhaps in good faith, but that does not matter to free speech – only to find out (or never find out) that the entire intent of what he or she wrote has been changed by some nasty busybody that Biden’s Czarina of Ultimate Truth has deemed “legit.”
Mind you, this appalling gibberish was not coming from a random Comparative [Insert Stupid Non-Academic Topic] Studies major at the Yale Comintern. No, this was coming from the putative Head of a Federal Agency. Does it never occur to people like her how condescending, obnoxious and just plain rude is her belief that us dumb idiots couldn’t go get additional context or points of view on our own? Oh, no! We’re too stupid for that, so after taking in a 128-character assertion from someone, we’d all just say, “Yup! That’s gotsta be all there is to this matter, thems is the facts, yup.”
It is therefore clearly up to some other set of total geniuses – we know this because they got blue checks from Twitter as a verified account, but then again, even some of them aren’t “legit” in her mind – to guide us poor dumb dumbs on the Path to Correct Thought by editing someone else’s writing to add context.
Just remember, this is how these obnoxious, self-appointed overlords think; she was just foolish enough to say it out loud for everyone to hear. They are superior to you – in ways that remain baffling to normal people but are apparently self-evident to themselves – so they should be able to wade into something as basic as your social media feed to alter what you say. For your own good, you see, to combat “disinformation,” you see.
When pressed by Senators in public hearings about the madness of this crazy woman who still claims that Hunter Biden’s laptop is not real being the arbiter of what is “true” and therefore able to be published, Secretary Mayorkas flailed around, claiming he had no idea who Nina was or what she had said. Mind you, he is the Head of the Department of Homeland Security, responsible for this stupid new assault on the First Amendment and he didn’t even know the chucklehead hired for the role spent her days peddling sheer lies on Twitter. Wow.
When reporters asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki about this assault on American freedom, common decency and, well, rationality, she responded to the criticism in the daily press briefing stating, "It sounds like the objective of the board is to prevent disinformation and misinformation from traveling around the country in a range of communities. I'm not sure who opposes that effort."
Um, Jen, the answer is every single rational American who has read the Constitution and, well, listened to any single clown in government ever. Aside from those hundreds of millions of people….
